Great Fosters Dining Hall The original brief was to replace the original badly decayed timber frame with steel clad in timber. We persuaded the client to adopt a different approach and to build an authentic oak frame. The building was completed within the budget and we think is incomparably better than might otherwise have been the case. Moulded sling braces and twin purlins with tiered wind braces make for a truly elegant structure. Carved columns and carefully worked mouldings give the raised tie style trusses a restrained beauty. Drawing of cross frame.
