Minstead Rural Study Centre
Commissioned by Hampshire County Architects this building serves the local schools as an environmental study centre. Fabricated entirely from Green Oak this timber frame building is a reciprocal structure based upon the famous Chinese Rainbow Bridge of the 12th Century. Essentially reciprocal structures interlock, assuming the adherence to a barrel vault form the more you load this structure the stronger it becomes as the members act primarily in compression.
