The historic crown post roof recreated here makes a lovely musicians studio and is located near Thursley. White painted timber sarking boarding over the rafters completes the space admirably.
This is the studio frame fully assembled, note that each rafter couple has a collar that bears onto the crown purlin. The crown post has lambs tongue stopped chamfers worked onto it allowing the neat transition of the octagonal section back to square.
This is another almost identical crown post roof here used for a shoot hut. Though an obscure form of truss no longer in use it is nevertheless beautiful. Note the cranked and tapered tie beam, a common device in mediaeval roof structures.
“"Seems a long time since we finished with the garden room project but we have to say that it has been a huge success in every aspect. The room has become the place of choice for visitors. I can guarantee that everyone, yes everyone who visits, is blown away by the frame."
Mel, Moat Farm
“"Thanks for the excellent job which has just been completed on the Oak Frame extension to the above property. Not only is the quality of the work faultless, it is a true work of art, which will bring endless enjoyment to me and my wife. The end result has surpassed our wildest expectations."
Ray Nicolaides
“"I wanted to drop you a quick note to show my appreciation for your guys efforts today; they were a pleasure to have around the house and worked hard to get the frame up today."
Paul, Contracts Manager
“"Thank you for the frame that you have just finished at Rogate. It was a miserable wet day, yesterday and John and team carried on regardless. We are delighted with the overall look and also the mouldings to the members. As usual, the frame was millimetre accurate and will be easy to take forward to complete the building."
Bob, Trembath Associates
“"Just to say that it looks fabulous, and all who survey it are wonder-struck. Best wishes and many thanks to you all."
