This substantial 4 bed house was completed for private clients in 2004 in Hampshire. Architecturally it is a great success, combining a range of materials into a harmonious whole and creating a stunning family home.
The end bay of the structure is entirely glazed creating a dramatic living space with views over the garden to woodland beyond.
Once sandblasted the frame becomes a soft pale straw colour that contrasts well with the brick red of the roof soffit to create warmth and texture.
We think the combination of timber, brick and glass combine well. There is a substantial part earth-bermed under croft which gives additional living space and elevates the ground floor and large terrace.
The external elevations where glazed, utilise a direct glazing system which is installed by a number of specialists up and down the country, who have the expertise to ensure the glazing is not compromised by the movement of the oak as it shrinks and moves through the drying process.
“"Thank you for the frame that you have just finished at Rogate. It was a miserable wet day, yesterday and John and team carried on regardless. We are delighted with the overall look and also the mouldings to the members. As usual, the frame was millimetre accurate and will be easy to take forward to complete the building."

“"I wanted to drop you a quick note to show my appreciation for your guys efforts today; they were a pleasure to have around the house and worked hard to get the frame up today."

“"Seems a long time since we finished with the garden room project but we have to say that it has been a huge success in every aspect. The room has become the place of choice for visitors. I can guarantee that everyone, yes everyone who visits, is blown away by the frame."
