Great Moor Lake

In 2016, we designed and built a charming Cotswold lakeside cabin as a relaxed and enjoyable family retreat. The open-plan living area seamlessly integrates with the kitchen and dining spaces, a favoured choice among our clients. Its exterior boasts attractive wide-sawn Larch weatherboarding and cleft Spruce shake roofing, harmonizing beautifully with the rural surroundings. The addition of a balcony by The Green Oak Carpentry Company provides alfresco sleeping space accessed from the sleeping loft.

The cabin features an expansive glazed south-facing gable that floods the interior with light and offers captivating lake views. Inside, sandblasted Oak beams, blue steel accents, glass elements, and white painted sarking boarding over Oak rafters infuse warmth and contemporary aesthetics. A steel spiral staircase leads to the bridge connecting the bedroom and sleeping loft, all enhanced by unobtrusive glass balustrades. The cabin’s dusk view from across the lake showcases its allure, although the timing strategically concealed the effects of summer algae.
